Hello All,we are using validate restore workflow. I can use it and it works succesfully. I am admin in our Commvault enviroenment. We have some users who do restore tests. I gave them the following roles. but when they execute the workflow. Workflow job getting pending state with that issue.İs it about user rights?Error Code: [19:857]Description: failed to execute database query, please check workflow engine log for more detailsSource: Garanti-CS, Process: Workflow  

Login failed for user 'sqlmetrics_cv'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. Received this information error on Commvault node. unbale to find anything on documentation 

I want configure e-mail notification for alert , job storage spAce and everything alert.how to configure ?

I have installed SQL server agent into windows server.While installing the SQL server agent, File System core and File system are installed automatically.After the installation, I couldn’t see the File system agent in the client.All I could see is the SQL server agent.But if I check the installed software, I can see the File system is installed.

Hi Team, We created a service user just to use the Rest api. We do not want to give master role to this user and we only want to be able to use the rest API. What roles should be given to the service user created for this purpose?

Hi Team, Can we see in the log file whether Deduplication and Compression are performed on the Client or the Media Agent?We changed Deduplication and Compression to be done in Media Agent via subclient, but we want to see this in the log file as well.

Hello Commvault,Lets assume we have a Primary Storage Policy with 14 days retention and extended rules, 90 days for Weekly Full. In case of 2nd aux copy, to Storage Policy (Azure Storage Account) with WORM Storage Lock enabled and 30 days of retention, I am wondering what happened with the GFS backup?OK, I see the retention is for 30 days (initial configuration), but the extended retention for Weekly Full are missing (from Primary Storage policy)!So, what happened with them? WORM Storage Lock has only 1 retention?How you are going to protect the rest GFS backup jobs?Please for your feedback,Nikos

Is it possible to restore AD-Objects to a different OU than they were originally?

Since upgrading to SP32.28 we are seeing issues with VMware reporting disk consolidation needed. Prior to SP32 when a snapshot removal succeeded but disk consolidation failed Commvault would trigger additional disk consolidation task.  Now the snapshot removes, reports disk consolidation is needed but nothing is automatically triggered to clean it up. Hi,We are getting a Communicatins failure between a SQL Windows server and our commserve.  The Error returned is : Invalid  Certificate. Check if the Client has a valid Certificate. client  shows Not Ready Status Has anyone ever seen this? If so is it a CV error or is there something the SQL ADMIN has to check on their side?

Hi, i’m looking to extract file level details on every job. I’ve used the File Level Anaytics reports to generate reports for all File System jobs. These reports doesn’t fetch anything for db/vsa jobs as the app type won’t match. I’ve tried the `getbackuplist` which is similar to FLA reports. We need the extract of `Files` backed up in a job (even if it is .vmdk / .mdf,.ldf, .dbf etc) to parse this information in our own db for quick searchability.Is there any workaround to get that from index, CS db, content index or any alternative to FLA reports for all data types. May be something similar to bpflist (in netbackup) - https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/doc/15263389-133604923-0/v93410403-133604923Note : index and data resides on tapes, having this info would be helpful to locally (1) search file locally in own db, (2) check job ID & required tapes and (3) then recall/retreive the tape.

I’m setting up workflow authorisations and am able to use email as the notification method, I do have the ability to send notifications to a webhook.I'm looking at using an alert to monitor for the authorisation workflows and send an alert via the webhook but I’m finding that the most obvious alert mechanism doesn’t seem to pickup the workflow jobs.I have an alert set as below:Category: Job Management Type: Workflow Criteria (all options selected) Entities - all authorisation workflows and the get and process workflowWhen I kick off the restore authorisation it does trigger an alert, but a delete jobs doesn't (for example).I can’t see anything logged in the event log or audit trail that I could use to trigger the webhook either.  Has anyone tried anything similar to this before?

Hi together,in our Commvault environment we are using old-stype and Storage-Policies and Schedule-Polices.Most of the Schedule-Polices (approx. 1000) are not enabled; they are triggered via an external Jobscheduler that is controlling the business requierements of the entvironment and is starting backups and snapshots alligned to application requirements. During our tests with plans we did not find a way to create a plan with a full and an incr schedule … but the plan stays inactive. Furthermore … how can we start a plan (schedule) via commandline?The question is: How do you connect a “plan-style” configuration to an external job scheduler.Any recommendation is very appreciated.Thanks.Michael

Hello, Very strange problem with CommVault RMAN (archive) backups. Sometimes a RMAN archivelog backup job stays “running” forever/hangs.It's not related to a specific Oracle instance, the problem occurs with all instances.At random, sometimes the jobs run and finish OK in a couple of minutes and sometimes stay running forever. Host (Windows2016) memory and CPU performance is ok.ClOragent.log logging stops at : OraObject::GetOraMode() - oraMode = READ WRITESo hangup occurs before the RMAN script is called.No entry in the database alert.log at that timestamp, just skipped. Looks like communication with the CIOragent.exe process is lost, although it is still running on te server…Hope you have an idea how to solve this problem...
