What is included in the Data Written (TB) figure? Is it only primary copy data written or does it include secondary and third copy also? I know it is already the deduplicated figure that is represented 

I have pulled the retention details of the VM client via api. It is in unix epoch time so I had to convert it to human readable format. The datetime on commvault GUI and API is different.Below information is fetched via API:Unix epoch time: 1728697951Retained until: 2024-10-12 01:52:31Below is from the GUI  

Hello community, After we replaced the media agents in our test environment and the storage policies were redirected to the new media agents, I get the following error message. Description: The virtual machine collect file could not be uploaded to MediaAgent [cvmatapp06]. Unable to initialize connection to remote file cache.I've been dealing with this problem for half a day but can't find a solution. Maybe someone here can give me a hint. I had already replaced the media agents in production but didn't have this problem then.RegardsThomas

Hi,is there an option available, that skips IntelliSnap Snap Backups, when Backup Copy operations are currently running for the subclient ?On NetApp FAS Systems, a new hardware snapshot cannot be created, while a volume clone is active.For some of the backups on large subclients, this leads to failed backups from time to time.This in my environment, this happens to some of the sublients once a month (4-weekly, before switching from Storage Policies to Plans)Instead of defining Blackout Windows to statically define when snap backups are to be skipped, it can also be helpful to simply skip the snap backup request, when the subclient is active with a backup copy or mount for restore operation.rgdsKlaus

Hi,Is there any document (or KB) how to configure network at OS lever for Windows CommServe/Media agent with multiple NICs? Do we configure default gateway for every network interface configured  or there should be only one interface with default gateway and static routes?  Thanks,Radek

Hi folks, We are trying to set up a new commvault platform version 11.36.6 under Rocky Linux release 9.1 (Blue Onyx). No error reported during the installation.But when we tried to access the CommandCenter, below the interface that is shown from the WebBrowser : After reviewing services status, we found that both WebServerCore and MongoDB are down : From cvlaunchd.log we can see :19647 4cbf 08/27 12:11:44 ### checkServices() - WebServerCore is not running. Bring it up!19647 4cbf 08/27 12:11:44 ### checkServices() - MongoDB is not running. Bring it up! Trying to bring them up did not work as well. Any idea why services are not working ?Kind regards.

Hello, new install here, needed to make a change on a Cloud Storage (HPE StoreOnce), and needed to recreate the catalyst store. I’ve deleted everything, but now from command center (11.34) I says when recreating the CLOUD Storage is already created. the commvault documentation only refers to commcell operation, but this is strange because commcell is not available on 11.34 https://documentation.commvault.com/2024/expert/deleting_backup_or_archive_storage_policy.html ERRO: Failed to create the Storage Policy [NAME_OF_STORAGE_POLICY]. A Storage Policy with the same name already exists any help will be much appreciated regards

We have the Only Backup Files created or modified on and after option setup for a few servers.  One of our servers is very large video images from our camera system.  It takes up a large amount of our CV Capacity license.  After 90 days we no longer care about files older than that.  I have the Only Backup Files setting set to 90 days from the current date.  The problem is I would need to go in and change that every day to stop it from backing up those older files.  I understand that its not really backing them up however it does count towards our capacity which is very high and we are trying to trim the fat.  My question is can I somehow set that to a date that is always 90 days from the current date when it goes to back up that server each night, or do I have to go in every day and update that date manually?  Thanks for any help.

Hi All, i have an bad point… I know lic reporting is not easy. I had the following situation. We are using Commvault Backup and Recovery by capacity for vsa and database.  We had an lic used growth from +4tb during the last 24 hours. Yesterday we had 49Tb from 50Tb used and today we are using 53Tb and of course the customer is know asking what happend here.  For me its very dificult to find out what happend here. I checked the bigges vsa player from full to full if there is any increase but i found nothing also the biggest db server from full to full but also nothing.  I send every 14 Day an lic zum report but there i only can see wich typ of application is using how much from the capacity lic So what can i do ? 

When will Platform Release 2024E 36.10 be availible in the Commvault Console ?

Has anyone seeing this case where when running a backup copy, VMs are mounted, but some of them end up “invalid” this failing backup copy and hanging around vsphere. We have to manually right click and select “Remove from Inventory then run another backup which then works fine.VMTools running latest version.Run a full on the affected VMs and it keeps happening.Had a ticket with CV which said that this is a VM issue, so wondering if the community has seen this before and have found a solution for it? Thanks

I rebooted two media agents in my environment and after that, I have DDB verification jobs failing. The error points to mount paths not accessible but all mount paths are online and ready. There are no network blocks. The connectivity between CV and the storage pool is up. The media agents can communicate with CommVault. Backup jobs are running with no issues. Only the DDB verification jobs are failing. The media agents involved are the ones I rebooted

Hey Guys!We have a few tapes with only a small amount of data. So we want to do a Media Refresh. But the Library has only one drive, so Media Refresh wouldn’t work?Re-Copy could be another solution, but jobs from the source are already deleted and existing only on the Tapes with longer retention.So I’m sitting here and scratching my head what we can/should do with those 5 Tapes with only a small amount data, because we need scratch tapes, so thats why we want to copy them together just to one Tape.KRJan

How many times i am able to take the exam..i mean what if i failed for the first time how many times will remain? 

We have a requirement from our data governance team to add the data classification into the actual details of the file once we have setup Classification Plans within Sensitive Data Governance, ideally the tag attribute within the file details. Does anyone know if this is possible and how you would do it?

i would like to know how the restore works , considering i have a full backup on weekend like Saturday and then daily incremental . now i want restore from last Wednesday , how the restoration works ?system go for the last full backup and then check the incrementals then convert it as a full backup and restore , or do we need to do it manually ??

Hello all!Hope things are rolling well! I do have a problem with Commvault Web Console. If we back up a new server one time and let's say it is 15 TB. We then release the license for said server, how long does it take for that for that 15 TB to return to the license? Is it based of the data aging jobs that run, or is there a certain number of cycles Commvault goes through to make sure the 15 TB is never going to come back?
