Customer has SaaS and wants to include their Azure virtual machines for unusual file activity monitoring.  in SaaS are we able install a restore only agent on the virtual machines to include them for monitoring?  Please provide instructions for my SaaS customer to obtain and install this restore only agent themselves.

Hi All,i want to find the backup set and subclient name of my VM. My VM is getting backed up but in the VM properties i can’t see, it belongs to which backup set and Subclient of the VMware instance.Can you help me to find this info, may be i am not searching enough. Thank you in advance.

Hi Team, I have a problem when i backup NAS with Nas Client, When backup show the error content does not exist and failed to mount. Even though the content is already there when browsing the contentCan't Synology backup use a NAS client? Customer has concerns that storage usage keeps increasing with incremental backup for M365. There is also risk if one of the jobs corrupted (job 99), we cannot recover future jobs (job 100). What is the workaround to have weekly full backup for M365?Can we create weekly full backup for M365 for all mailboxes (new mailboxes are _automatically_ added into the backup job)? Hello Everyone,Is it possible to recover data from a tape that was used in a previous CV instance?For example, data was previously backed up to tape using CV instance.  Then a few years later that CV instance was uninstalled and no longer exists.  Is there a way to recover data from that tape using any CV tools?Thanks for any information

My backups are running at 66 days and only 44 -60 % done. Obviously I cannot continue.  There are a number of articles on slow performance but they are in an area that I am not privileged to see.  There is no errors or events.  The backups are a mix of windows file servers and vms . I am not versed enough with commvault to quickly get to the heart of the matter.

One of my MS SQL database backups keeps on running for entire day, but the progress is 0% and sometimes it completes after making some failed attempts and sometimes it fails completely. when I checked the error message under the failed attempt it says. "Error encountered when closing the virtual device. Please see SQL Server vdi.log for more details." I have already shared the logs with CommVault support. However, I was checking the event logs related to VDI on the server and found attached alert. can this be the issue. RegardsAmit

Hello,Our company use 1 MA on each site, they have 4 sites.each physical MA has some dedup Databases.We plan a hardware refresh with 2 MA on each site (gridstor mode) in the same we plan to migrate our backup storage from DAS to NAS.What is the better approach to perform the refresh with less complexitybuild the new MAs move Index and DDB to the new MA connect new Storage libraries to the new MA On existing Storage policies, create a synchronous copy that point the the new MA and new libraries promote the secondary copy to primary decommission the old MAThnaks for the help!

Hello Team. Customer has moved on-prem vmware ms windows vm’s to azure as azure vm instances. They say they have the vm’s in 4 separate subscriptions and provided 4 subscription ID’s. The CV Azure Client has only 1ea. field for a subscription ID. To protect these vm’s, will 4ea. CV Azure Clients need to be created ?

Hello all! We are working on PostreSQL implementation process. Our customer wants to have this kind of schedule:Log Backup Schedule = Every 2 hoursSchedule = 1 x full 6 x incr,  So we have done that schedule: For LOG backup:There is “incremental” chosen and Data is NOT chosen Other schedule is created for “incremental” backup:There is “incremental” chosen and Data IS chosen When i do run this schedule manually or even if it runs automatically, i can see only this:​​​​​​​so no matter which schedule run JobType is always “Log Only” If I do run manually backup and chose incremental, it also uses “Log Only” job type. This backup is based on FSBasedBackupSet So if it is even a way to do a normal Incremental backup for PostgreSQL? Or it will always be “log only”?While running Full backup i can see that there are also logs and Full backup:I am wondering, hot to handle backup retentions if there is nothing like “straight forward incremental backup”​​​​​​​

Hello Experts, Our client cant communicate directly with Commcell. They go through media servers. As and when a new backup request comes, we open bidirectional communication between client and media servers for port 8400 to 8403. we would like to understand that when Backup schedule will kick off, which port will trigger to start the communication with media server and which port will help with data transfer. We would also like to know that once the data transfer is started, what will happen to the port which was responsible for data communication between client and MA.

AWS Cross account backup configuration.senario: having 3 AWS accounts to backup resources from Account A to a media agent in Account B that has backup bucket in account C ( account B & C are fine that I do backup account B resources as MA /AN/Proxy is here) , Account B IAM user is allowed to access resporces from Account A while configuring the commvault client for Account A backup can list the ressources from account B only though the account B user allowed to access account A , any Idea is that still viable option and supported ? ThanksSK   

Hi ,I am trying to send an Daily Job summary report to Helpdesk team and keep my Manager in CC from COmmvault.But there is no option for “cc” field, it;s there in Alert section but not in reports.Can somebody help me if there is any option to customize the report and add CC form?
