Hi,We are getting a Communicatins failure between a SQL Windows server and our commserve.  The Error returned is : Invalid  Certificate. Check if the Client has a valid Certificate. client  shows Not Ready Status Has anyone ever seen this? If so is it a CV error or is there something the SQL ADMIN has to check on their side?

Hi, I am dealing with api’s for a project, so I need to see backup job’s that’s why I use this api “http://WebConsoleHostName/webconsole/api/Job” and this api  returns all the jobs in the past one year in CommCell environment. But some jobs are missing, I can not see, How can I see all the jobs ? 

how to integrate the active directory user in CommVault CommCell console.is there any LDAP configuration require or any other process.  (Actually I have a created normal user in CommCell and assigned the role also, it is working. ) 

Actually I have created custom AD package and manually installed on AD server. but i think not work properly. hence i took the backup of AD server, then not reflected restore Ad object or users.Why ? please suggest how to install AD agent or push process ?

Hi, i’m looking to extract file level details on every job. I’ve used the File Level Anaytics reports to generate reports for all File System jobs. These reports doesn’t fetch anything for db/vsa jobs as the app type won’t match. I’ve tried the `getbackuplist` which is similar to FLA reports. We need the extract of `Files` backed up in a job (even if it is .vmdk / .mdf,.ldf, .dbf etc) to parse this information in our own db for quick searchability.Is there any workaround to get that from index, CS db, content index or any alternative to FLA reports for all data types. I’m setting up workflow authorisations and am able to use email as the notification method, I do have the ability to send notifications to a webhook.I'm looking at using an alert to monitor for the authorisation workflows and send an alert via the webhook but I’m finding that the most obvious alert mechanism doesn’t seem to pickup the workflow jobs.I have an alert set as below:Category: Job Management Type: Workflow Criteria (all options selected) Entities - all authorisation workflows and the get and process workflowWhen I kick off the restore authorisation it does trigger an alert, but a delete jobs doesn't (for example).I can’t see anything logged in the event log or audit trail that I could use to trigger the webhook either.  Has anyone tried anything similar to this before?

Hello everyone, I’m currently changing the MA in a environment and I could move all the data and jobs from the old MA to the new one. In the tab Recovery targets configuration I could change the MA to the new one, but I need to change the Primary Storage and could add a new Storage on it, but when I try to remove the Storage Pool of the old MA, I receive a message saying that I cannot remove it. (all the steps was made in the Command Center, since the first configuration, till now). I tried to take a look in Java GUI to try set the Storage Pool of the new MA, but the DR Storage Policy is not listed in there, but idk why. Before I open a ticket (if this is a issue) or reconfigure the DR in the Replication Group with everything new, I wanted to know if there’s something I could do. Do you guys have an idea or a way to do this? Thanks, 😀

I’m new to the Commvault world and tasked with researching, installing and configuring Commvault in our environment.   My aim is to gather as much information as possible prior to installing Commvault.   I’m currently taking an intro to Commvault course, but it appears this is a very complex piece of software.   My question is:   would it be prudent to deploy a VMware VM with the Commvault software pre-Installed by using the Commvault OVA (not HYPERSCALE X)?   Does anyone have experience using the appliance to get Commvault up and running in your environment?   If so, are there any “gotchas” I should be concerned about?   Any downside with updates to the appliance (e.g. new patches) or any other potential issues?   Any information is greatly appreciated.

Actually my question is , i have added vmare vCenter in commvault, but the virtual machine is not showing proper way. like not showing  left side navigation commcell windows. it is show vCenter tab then expand then virtual server then expand then default then double click and then contend tab and it is showing all virtual machine.don’t want this way.. want showing left side navigation window all virtual machine.How ? any process ?

Hi together,in our Commvault environment we are using old-stype and Storage-Policies and Schedule-Polices.Most of the Schedule-Polices (approx. 1000) are not enabled; they are triggered via an external Jobscheduler that is controlling the business requierements of the entvironment and is starting backups and snapshots alligned to application requirements. During our tests with plans we did not find a way to create a plan with a full and an incr schedule … but the plan stays inactive. Furthermore … how can we start a plan (schedule) via commandline?The question is: How do you connect a “plan-style” configuration to an external job scheduler.Any recommendation is very appreciated.Thanks.Michael

File system backup speed is slow  but in job details load is 100%.

We are fairly new to Commvault and trying to find ways to speed up and streamline our backups. Using our Quantum DXi appliances for primary hasn’t worked out the way we hoped.  We are looking into using Intellisnap on our Pure flash arrays.  Here’s what we would like to do:Create a snap on the primary Pure array Create a secondary snap replica to an offsite array Use the secondary snap replica as a source to backup to Quantum disk and to tapeI have a few questions:When I create a new storage policy, it creates a “primary copy” and then I create a “primary snap copy”.  I can’t get rid of the primary copy.  What is the primary copy’s function in an Intellisnap situation?  Can I just ignore it? We are then creating a secondary snap replica to another offsite Pure array. Can I use that replica copy as a source for copying to tape or another disk?  It doesn’t look like that’s an option when I create an auxiliary copy.

Actually, I tried to install the CV agent on windows client system, but not luck it is failed.for that require download software in software cache or else direct push. if it is direct push then, I think install full media that's why it’s failed.Please suggest.

Hello, Very strange problem with CommVault RMAN (archive) backups. Sometimes a RMAN archivelog backup job stays “running” forever/hangs.It's not related to a specific Oracle instance, the problem occurs with all instances.At random, sometimes the jobs run and finish OK in a couple of minutes and sometimes stay running forever. Host (Windows2016) memory and CPU performance is ok.ClOragent.log logging stops at : OraObject::GetOraMode() - oraMode = READ WRITESo hangup occurs before the RMAN script is called.No entry in the database alert.log at that timestamp, just skipped. Looks like communication with the CIOragent.exe process is lost, although it is still running on te server…Hope you have an idea how to solve this problem...

Hello Commvault Community,I have a maybe performance issue. We have an archive solution for Exchange, we also enable quick-look for already cleaned up emails, but when we want to access the quick-look and redirect it to Webconsole page, it takes more than 30s even a minute to open.After that, the next successive accesses will work fine without any issues.Is this expected behavior? Do we have any workaround or configurations in tomcat such that this delay can be mitigated? Please suggest.

We are currently using 3-way NDMP backup for Isilon NAS. However, the first full backup takes forever to complete and the NAS data is like hundreds of TB. Dell then suggest us to use 2-way NDMP backup solution with B100 backup accelerator and a new dedicated tape library added to improve the backup performance. Since the new dedicated tape library will be directly attached to B100 (no need to connect to a physical Media Agent server any more), we are now thinking to use a VM as the dedicated Media Agent.We don’t have any experience on how to configure 2-way NDMP backups with a Media Agent virtual server on Commvault, and how to configure the control path and data path. It will be really appreciated if anyone can provide any details on configuration steps. Thanks in advance. Will  

Good day Vaulters This question is around hardware and Commvault level encryption. If I have encryption enabled on the Maglib (VAST storage with it’s encryption enable), what happens if encryption is enabled on Commvault? Does it try to encrypt the data on the Maglib that has the Hardware vendors encryption already in place? What is the effect on backup AND recovery performance in doing this?Would it be best to leave Encryption on Commvault off in this case? We do need to also have Encryption enabled ‘in transit’. I know that’s done with Network routes. Would there be a performance impact on operations in using this option too? What will both layer of Encryption do to DDB sizing? I’d imagine it could cause bloat? Thanks,Mauro
